We want you to get the very best from your Little Nell purchase so we've put together some handy tips for looking after your jewels.
Whether you've purchased brass hair grips, or a sterling silver necklace it's always best to adhere to the following rules:
- Keep your purchase away from liquids, particularly hairspray, sun cream or perfume
- When you're not wearing your jewellery, make sure necklaces and bracelets are fastened to avoid tangles
- Keep them in a cotton pouch or gift box when they weren't being worn
- Remove your jewellery when showering, sleeping or exercising
It's important to keep your jewellery clean too, if sterling silver and gold fill pieces are looked after correctly, they can last a lifetime. If you're not sure what your jewellery is made from, check the composition of your item on their product page.
Sterling silver pieces can be lightly polished with a silver cloth to be restored to their original glory
Gold fill will not flake or tarnish, if it's looking a little lacklustre, just lightly polish with a cloth
Raw brass pieces will develop a patina over time which gives them a unique vintage charm and quality. If you'd prefer to keep them in their original state, they should be kept in an airtight container (we use small ziplock bags) and can be polished with a little brass cleaner when necessary.
